Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Inc. (RSVP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that provides transportation services using RSVP vans in Carson City and 14 rural Nevada counties (services area) with Field Offices in Douglas, Lyon, Elko, Lincoln, White Pine, Nye, Humboldt, and Mineral. RSVP is applying for financial assistance under the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Multimodal Planning/Transit Section grant authorized under 49 USC Section 5310.
This program provides for the availability of federal funds for capital expenses in rural areas by way of the FTA Formula Grant Programs administered by NDOT for the purpose of assisting private nonprofit organizations or governmental entities in meeting the transportation needs of seniors (60+) and adults with disabilities. RSVP proposes to provide the following: access to transportation between remote and rural service areas and neighboring counties.
Private and local transit agencies located within the service area that are interested in providing services or have objections to the current public system, are advised that they may request a public hearing to be conducted to provide a means for them to express their views relative to the proposed project on the probable social, economic and environmental effects involved in the proposed project. In lieu of requesting a public hearing, interested parties may submit their comments on the proposed services by sending a written response within 14 days to the following address.
