Homemakers provide essential home support services such as cleaning and social interaction. Duties include talking to elderly clients, and chore assistance with housekeeping such as dusting, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, floor maintenance, laundry and linen changing.
Homemakers are contract employees who work approximately 20 hours per week.
“I would not be able to stay in my home without RSVP. It’s allowed me to keep my home and to have food to eat that is fresh and healthy. The homemaker services keep my home clean. RSVP is a place I can count on for transportation to go food shopping and to other appointments without worrying how to accomplish these tasks. I can’t do without it!” – RSVP Homemaker and Transportation Client
RSVP programs and services are offered at no charge with the exception of the monitoring fee from Lifeline; however, there are suggested donations for services. No one is turned away because of an inability to donate. Not all programs are available in each county. RSVP volunteers do not perform services that fall under professional health care services, such as nurses, aids, etc. We cannot lift, transfer clients, or administer medication.
For assistance please contact RSVP at 775-687-4680 or visit the Contact Us Page for a listing of the Field Office in your community.
