“We are honored to continue to present three annual Carnivals & Celebrations in May, July and October. RSVP produces the fireworks extravaganza in Carson City for the 4th of July Celebration to honor our nation’s Independence and Nevada’s statehood. We are so grateful for the generous community support for these historical community events, as well as other RSVP events, especially from our signature sponsors such as Carson City Toyota – Campagni Auto Group, NV Energy, Gold Dust West Hotel & Casino, Carson Nugget, Greater Nevada Credit Union, Adele’s, Alpine Insurance, Carson Tahoe Health System, and Sierra Nevada Media Group,” says Susan Haas, Executive Director & C.E.O. of RSVP. “
In 2018 RSVP presented the 33rd Annual Nevada Day Carnival Event which was held October 25-28; the 26th Annual 4th of July Celebration & Carnival that ran from June 30-July 4; and the 33rd Annual Spring Celebration & Carnival that took place May 10-13. These fun and engaging events draw hundreds to Mills Park in Carson City each year for food, rides, games, vendors and fun to help raise funds to support RSVP Programs. RSVP partners with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and 4H as part of the Carson City FAIR which was held July 25-29. The Carson City FAIR is a fun, entertaining and educational experience for the entire family as well as the agricultural community and the community at large.
RSVP presented a new fundraising event; “Reaching For Zero”, a Veteran Appreciation and Veteran Suicide Awareness Brunch which took place at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City in January. This unique event honors Veterans and features music, a color guard presentation, brunch, auction, raffle, and keynote speakers from the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention, Western Nevada College, and Warm Springs Correction Center. In 2018 the event drew over 100 attendees and helped raise awareness of Veteran issues and provide Veterans with suicide prevention resources, emergency transportation, wellness checks, and a wide-ranging support system.
RSVP also presented “Veterans & Their Caregivers” Resource Fair in September 2018, a new event that was held at the Carson Nugget. This inaugural community resource event drew more than 75 Veterans, 40 participating organizations and sponsors that hosted vendor resource tables offering veterans valuable information on resources, benefits, and services.
