Our Fundraising Campaign

RSVP presents three annual Carnivals & Celebrations each year – in May, July and October.  Additionally, RSVP produces the fireworks extravaganza in Carson City for the 4th of July Celebration to honor our nation’s Independence and Nevada’s statehood. RSVP is grateful for the community support and generous sponsorships which ensure these historical community events can continue while supporting RSVP’s fundraising efforts.  Special thanks to the July 4th Celebration & Fireworks sponsors such as the Carson City Redevelopment Authority, Carson City Toyota – Campagni Auto Group, Wold Amusements, NV Energy, Gold Dust West Hotel & Casino, Carson Nugget, Greater Nevada Credit Union, Alpine Insurance, Carson Tahoe Health System, Plumas Bank, and Sierra Nevada Media Group.

In 2019, RSVP presented the 34th Annual Nevada Day Carnival Event which was held October 24-27; the 27th Annual 4th of July Celebration & Carnival that ran from July 4-7; and the 34th Annual Spring Celebration & Carnival that took place May 9-12.  These fun and engaging events bring both local residents and the many visitors to our area and Mills Park in Carson City – to join us for live music, great food and craft vendors, and the excitement of carnival rides and games designed for all ages.  All day carnival wristbands are offered for $30 at the park and $5 Discount Coupons are available at the RSVP Beer booth.

2020 Carnival Events were cancelled due to COVID-19.   To view 2021 Carnival Events details visit:  https://nevadaruralrsvp.org/rsvp-events/

In 2018 and 2019, RSVP presented a new fundraising event; “Reaching For Zero”, a Veteran Appreciation and Veteran Suicide Prevention Awareness Event.  The event took place at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City and honors Veterans with live music, color guard presentation, brunch, auction, raffle, and speakers representing the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention, Nevada Department of Veterans Services, Western Nevada College, Carson City Sheriff, Warm Springs Correction Center and James Bagwell.  The event helps raise awareness of Veteran issues and provide Veterans with suicide prevention resources, emergency transportation, wellness checks, and a wide-ranging support system.

2020 Reaching For Zero Event was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In 2018 and 2019, RSVP presented “Veterans & Their Caregivers” Resource Fair which was held at the Carson Nugget.  This community resource fair drew over 100 attendees including Veterans, participating organizations, and event sponsors.  Exhibitors hosted display tables offering attendees valuable information on veterans-related resources, benefits, and services.

2020 Veterans & Their Caregivers Resource Fair was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In 2021 RSVP hosted a virtual 5k/10k run – walk – jog: “Steppin’ Up for Seniors”.  This inaugural fundraiser celebrates RSVP volunteers in April in honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Month and to recognize the volunteers who bring lifesaving services to seniors and others in need every day of the year.  This event is held throughout the month of April.  Participants can practice social distancing by choosing their location, whether on the treadmill or in any neighborhood.

“To recognize our volunteers and help our seniors, we’re hosting Steppin’ Up For Seniors.  Participating in this fun and engaging event is a great way to stay fit, while helping your senior family members, friends, and neighbors, and celebrate volunteer appreciation month with RSVP.   These virtual race events can often go nation-wide.  This is an opportunity to blend a Virtual Race into a fundraiser, bring the community together in any neighborhood, and help support the much-needed independent living services our vulnerable citizens need”, said Molly Walt, Chief Executive Officer of RSVP.

Proceeds from RSVP fundraising events help support direct costs and operational costs to maintain continuity of the lifesaving stand-alone independent living programs for the most vulnerable persons in need.
